The synopsis for this episode doesn’t reveal an awful lot, but teases: “Negan’s unwelcome visit to Alexandria continues as other members scavenge for supplies; things quickly spin out of control.” The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 8

AMC’s The Walking Dead has an uncanny knack for manipulating its audience, but this year’s hyper-violent season premiere went too far. So far that we canceled our ongoing series The Walking Dead Quitter’s Club, and co-author Bryan Bishop swore off the show entirely.

Now, Nick Statt is trying to change his mind. Instead of tearing the show down, he’ll be finding something to highlight. It might be a subtle change in character, a great action scene, or a new development in a narrative arc. But every week, Nick will be seeking out things that remind us of the very best of The Walking Dead — the moments that might just give viewers a reason to come back.

Welcome to The Walking Dead Redemption Club.

Dear Bryan,

Reactions to last week’s standalone episode were, at best, disgruntled. I think it’s the first time I’ve ever received angry mail from readers upset that we weren’t hard enough on The Walking Dead; that we gave the show a pass by focusing on yet another new community with shallow characters. The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 7

It’s easy to understand the anger. Since Rick and the gang bested the cannibals in Terminus, TWD has fumbled time and again. Its mammoth 16-episode seasons — a strength for AMC as a network — are now proving to be the greatest weakness of The Walking Dead as a show. It simply makes things too slow, too filled to the brim with filler.

Viewers agree. Ratings have dropped to season three levels, while a core group of fans continue to hold on because, well, why stop now? There’s certainly a metaphor in there about post-apocalyptic survival and soldiering on week after week in the face of lifeless writing and shoddy pacing, but I’ll ask you to trust me one last time, Bryan. Because “Sing Me a Song” is in fact the best episode of this season. It’s evidence that the show can still entertain and set up an explosive finale — when it actually bothers moving the plot along, that is.

Now that The Walking Dead episode 5 is past us, we might as well take a sneak peek at next week’s installment. As expected, AMC has posted both a new trailer for episode 706 — titled Swear — and a short clip that gives us an extra sneak peek. If you’re still behind on this season of the show, then you might be better off avoiding the following videos because there are some spoilers.

The Walking Dead Season 7
We’re back to the usual grind, which means we get to see lots of mundane things happening in these episodes while waiting for the juicier parts — and this isn’t necessarily a great recipe for success, so let’s just hope that AMC will find ways to keep us entertained. The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 6

Next week, we’re going to discover a new colony, one we’ve never seen before. “A familiar face stumbles upon a brand new society. Their rules, location, and setup, are unlike anything that has been seen before,” the official synopsis reads. The new episode will show us Negan’s camp, which is probably the new society the synopsis teases. But it’ll also feature scenes from The Kingdom. Tara is back as well, and she’s apparently off to hunt with Heath, one of the Alexandria survivors who has finally realized what kind of world he’s living in.

Meanwhile, Rosita is working on something, and Rick and Aaron are away on some sort of mission — are they acting on possible intel received from Daryl?

Glenn, and Abraham bid farewell, who’s next? Also, rumors about Glenn having a twin surely adds to the excitement. The Walking Dead has indeed exploded with a lot of plot twists and turns, hence this upcoming episode will definitely top it all up. It may not be as cruel as what you have witnessed with Negan’s bat, but you’ll surely have another epic ride

The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 5 will talk about the characters going in different directions. Rumors predict that some of the main characters might be going into separate paths, one in Alexandria, and the other in Hilltop Colony. Also, Michonne had a change of heart and opted to support Rick’s plans. The clip shown below shows Maggie, Paul, and Gregory crossing Hilltop Colony. Carl questioned Michonne’s decision of not coming with Carl’s Dad. This is a huge indicator that Rick is gone missing in action. We don’t have the specific answer towards the question of the fans on where Rick have gone. Some speculation states that Rick might have gone into saving Daryl from Negan’s captivity or he might be part of the travelers who journey to Alexandria.

Although the information stated above are partly rumors, but the possibility of it being true is 50/50 since it is supported by facts. With all of the twists and turns The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 5 will bring to the table, and to the delight of the fans, we’re bound to witness another excitement episode of The Walking Dead Season 7

A week ahead troublesome and anticipating the second scene, particularly after such presentation. “It’s a POW. He has no clue what will transpire. Some portion of it has just to do. He went to a point where the spoiled world he lives, and with the heaviness of every one of that has happened to the gathering, he has somewhat lost the will to battle. ” Norman Reedus then talks about what anticipates Daryl later in the arrangement: “It will get to be dim, exceptionally dim He will do things that will push it to a final turning point It is a mix of contempt,.. self-dismissal. It’s unique in relation to when we began the arrangement. He has a major weight on his shoulders. He suspected that individuals disliked. He had not by any stretch of the imagination do that. Presently we have the feeling that it abhors himself. he abhors the world in which he lives, and he doesn’t really lose the battling soul which is in him, he doesn’t see much good on the planet “could finish up Norman Reedus. What do you think ?

Next week, we’re going to see the full gang, the trailer suggests, but things aren’t looking good for Rick & Co. The group is still recovering from the brutal meeting with Negan. And Rick seems to be getting even worse as he realizes he’s no longer in charge. It’s probably going to be a while before Rick and the others will be ready to put up a decent fight. But we also see an angry Michonne, an indication that the people of Alexandria might be down for now, but they’re far from being defeated.

As for Negan, he will personally come to collect what’s his, and he’s probably eager to see how his newest colony will greet him. We’ll just have to wait one more week to see what’s next in The Walking Dead.

If you felt a little short-changed by the last episode of The Walking Dead, and specifically by its lack of a Negan and/or Daryl follow-up, “The Cell” should answer your prayers. The inner workings of Negan’s group are explored in depth for the first time in an episode that toys with the question of whether Daryl, incarcerated at Negan’s ‘Sanctuary’ and racked with guilt over causing Glenn’s death, will break or not.

Negan keeps his crew in check with Cult Leader 101 tactics—praising obedience, punishing dissent and breaking down their sense of self to the point that when asked who they are, they will respond: “Negan.” There are two tiers of Savior, we learn: the lower tier live like prisoners, the upper tier like kings, and Negan’s right-hand man Dwight is firmly in the latter category. His day-to-day life involves sandwiches, whiskey shots and old VHS tapes of Who’s The Boss?, which passes for the lap of luxury in The Walking Dead’s universe.

Daryl, on the other hand, is being kept naked in a grimy cell, forced to listen to the world’s most annoying song on repeat. (The impeccably grating song in question, ‘Easy Street’, was written specifically for this episode by Jim Bianco). Negan has seen something he likes in Daryl, and tasks Dwight with breaking him down to the point where he’ll “kneel”—because total surrender to Negan is the price of the good life.

Daryl and Dwight have met before, back in the Season 6 episode “Always Accountable,” in which Dwight and his wife Sherry had just escaped from Negan’s Sanctuary. Daryl helped them out, and ended up getting double-crossed and robbed for his trouble—but as it turns out, things didn’t end so well for anybody in that equation. Dwight and Sherry were re-captured by Negan, and surrendered to him in order to keep each other alive—so Dwight is now Negan’s bitch, and Sherry is Negan’s “wife”, a setup too harrowing to contemplate in much depth.

Longtime TWD writer Angela Kang buries an insightful little nugget about consent in Negan’s dialogue this week: pleased with Dwight’s work, he offers him his pick of any woman he wants for the night, “so long as she says yes”—just like Sherry said yes to marrying him, because the alternative was letting Dwight die. Consent under duress is worthless, but Negan gets to call himself “a standup guy” because he gets them to say yes. Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 3

“Whatever he’s done to you, there’s always more,” Sherry tells Daryl, advising him to do whatever he’s told and not even try to escape. Daryl being Daryl, he ignores this advice and gets a beating for his trouble, insisting “I ain’t never gonna kneel.” And he doesn’t, not even after Dwight pours every kind of salt in the wound imaginable: reminding him “You got your friend killed,” handing him a polaroid of Glenn’s bashed-in head, and even switching his cell music over to Ray Orbison’s mournful “Crying.” And though Daryl does cry at this point, it’s not the moment of surrender Dwight takes it as—when Negan asks “Who are you?” he still answers with his own name. Unlike Dwight, Daryl doesn’t have anybody else to protect, so he can afford to stick to his guns.

Dwight, though, is more conflicted than he appears. He doesn’t flinch when Negan crassly offers him sex with Sherry (“a blast from the past”) and seems totally devoted to pleasing his master. But when Cam, a fellow Savior and former friend of Dwight, escapes the compound and Dwight catches up to him, the mask slips a little. “Everything is his, or will be,” Dwight tells Cam, who can’t comprehend how Dwight can obey Negan after what he’s done. And though Dwight says all the right Negan-approved things in this scene, threatening Cam and his loved ones with a laundry list of grisly violence, he ultimately gives Cam what he wants and shoots him rather than taking him back to Negan. As determined as Dwight is to turn Daryl over to his way of thinking, the reverse seems just as likely.

So… either Daryl and Dwight will team up to stage a revolt, or Carol will hitch a ride with Ezekiel’s crew on their next produce run, and rescue Daryl like the badass she is. Consider this a vote for door number two.

Have you recovered from that yet? Probably a silly question – what went down on the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead will surely be etched in fans’ minds for quite a while. The season 6 finale left us on a highly controversial cliffhanger, but we finally discovered which member(s) of Ricks’ group were introduced to Lucille during “The Time will Come When You Won’t Be,” and it was not for the faint of heart.

The cast and crew had done a pretty good job in their attempts to misdirect viewers from the identity of Negan’s victim, with Robert Kirkman himself seemingly confirming that there was only going to be one death in a recent interview – but, in the end it turned out to be the characters most of us figured it would be: Abraham first, then, mirroring what goes down in the comics, Glenn. Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 2

The latter’s demise was particularly difficult to watch, and the grisly depiction of his murder has come in for some backlash on social media. Horrific things are going to happen on a horror series, but even I have to admit that this was especially nihilistic.
Next week’s installment, “The Well,” shifts the focus to Carol and Morgan as they adapt to life in The Kingdom, which is under the rule of a man named Ezekiel. Hopefully he’ll turn out to be a more benevolent leader than Negan… and will be less fond of caving people’s skulls in.
